The Long-eared Jerboa(Euchoreutes naso), is a nocturnal mouse-like rodent with a long tail, long hind legs for jumping, and exceptionally large ears. It is distinct enough that authorities consider it to be the only member of both its genus, Euchoreutes, and subfamily, Euchoreutinae. It has been reported in China and in ten localities in desert habitats of Trans Altai Govi Desert and the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. A large part of the species is believed to occur in Mongolia within protected areas. Very little is known about the species.

Oh my god, it’s Despereaux.

You’re so aggravating
like the sore that appears
when you bite your tongue chewing
And if I told you to stop it
You’d look at me and ask,
“What are you doing?”
I’d ask, “Where are you looking?”
You’d say “Forward” of course
I bite my tongue again
This time with more force
I tell you, “Just look around,
Instead of so far ahead”
Youth is hanging
on the hair of a thread
If you can’t accept
the wait for the morning
Then what is today?
Do you feel you’re wasting time?
Or are you enjoying your day?
“Jacobs’s dioramas provide peeks into a world in which reality is presented in such exquisite detail it begins to look surreal.
The artist draws from art history and garden pest control brochures alike to create miniature 3D works of art, viewed through a circular glass lens. Viewers get the impression that they are looking into another realm, simultaneously natural and constructed, familiar and unknown. In a way, we get a taste for a fish’s life from inside the bowl.”
